Assam Police shake-up: New SSPs appointed in 21 dists

Assam government has transferred 36 senior police officers, including SSPs in 21 districts and specialized units, ahead of the 2026 assembly elections. The reshuffle aims to enhance operational efficiency and public service delivery. Key appointments were also made in Guwahati Police Commissionerate and various CID and Special Branch units.
