NCPOR working on DPR for ice-classpolar research vessel costing Rs 2.7k cr

India is set to acquire its own ice-class polar research vessel, with the Union government giving an in-principle nod. The Vasco-based National Centre for Polar and Ocean Research is preparing a detailed project report for the vessel, estimated to cost between Rs 2,400-2,700 crore. Indigenous construction is expected, with the ship likely ready by 2030-31.
