Forest dept revokes permit for JSPL’s iron ore mine in Keonjhar over norms flout

The forest department has revoked Jindal Steel and Power Ltd’s (JSPL) operating permit for its Roida-1 iron ore block in Keonjhar, Odisha. This action was taken due to violations of forest conservation norms, including unauthorized use of a road through a reserved forest for mineral transport and failure to provide compensatory afforestation land.
