Aasu proposes renaming Bogibeel Bridge after Zubeen Garg to honor his legacy

The All Assam Students’ Union (Aasu) Dibrugarh unit has urged the state government to rename the Bogibeel Bridge after Zubeen Garg, a legendary Assamese singer, to honor his immense contribution to Assamese music and culture. Aasu also plans to erect a life-size statue of Garg in Dibrugarh town. The Bogibeel Bridge, India’s longest rail-cum-road bridge, was inaugurated in 2018.
