Assam cabinet clears 10-day protocol to expel illegal foreigners

Assam’s cabinet has approved a new SOP allowing DCs and SSPs to identify and expel illegal immigrants within 10 days, bypassing Foreigners’ Tribunals. This action, enabled by the Immigrants (Expulsion from Assam) Act, 1950, aims to expedite the removal process. Illegal immigrants detected near the border will be immediately pushed back.
