Aurora 2025: 18 US states could see the Northern Lights tonight and here’s how to watch them

Sky watchers in northern United States may witness a rare spectacle. The northern lights could appear overnight on August 8–9. A coronal mass ejection and solar wind are heading towards Earth. This may trigger a geomagnetic storm. Eighteen states, including Alaska, Montana and New York, are in the aurora view line.
