‘Betrayed US and its allies’: Australian executive pleads guilty to selling American cyber secrets to Russia
Australian national Peter Williams, former general manager of a US defence contractor, pleaded guilty in Washington, D.C., to selling $35 million worth of classified cyber-exploit software to a Russian broker. US officials said the theft endangered national security and intelligence networks in both the U.S. and Australia. Williams faces more than a decade in prison, with sentencing set for January 2026.
