Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation to target plastic manufacturing units to combat pollution

Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation is shifting its strategy against plastic pollution, now targeting manufacturing units instead of just penalizing shopkeepers. This move aims to curb the supply of thin polythene bags, which continue to dominate city markets despite a ban. The BMC plans to collaborate with the Khurda administration to address manufacturing units outside its jurisdiction.
