Bike riders top road crash fatality list, both as victims & as perpetrators

In 2023, two-wheeler riders accounted for the highest share of road deaths in India, with 45% of fatalities. Accidents involving these vehicles also significantly impacted vulnerable road users, including pedestrians and cyclists.
