Similipal Tiger Reserve in Odisha, India, is the only place on Earth where melanistic, or black tigers, roam. These tigers owe their unique dark coats to a rare genetic mutation. The reserve is home to around 10 black tigers, with recent reports of melanistic cubs being born.
