BMC inspects sweet shops for safety ahead of Diwali: 31 samples collected

Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation’s food safety squads collected 31 samples of suspected poor quality sweets from hotels and stalls ahead of Diwali. Fines totaling Rs 7,500 were imposed for unhygienic conditions, poor packaging, and the potential use of artificial colours. Further action will be taken based on laboratory test results.
