Cabinet nod to formulation of new rules to curb illegal mining

Odisha’s state cabinet has approved new rules to combat illegal mining and regulate mineral trade, replacing the 2007 framework. The Odisha Minerals (Prevention of Illegal Mining and Regulation of Trading, Transportation & Storage) Rules, 2025, aim to simplify operations for leaseholders and enhance mineral administration.
