Centre plans ‘battery passport’ to boost EV safety, quality & exports

India is set to introduce a “Battery Passport” regime to provide detailed information about EV batteries, including origin, performance, and lifecycle, embedded in a QR code. This initiative, driven by safety concerns and the need to improve quality standards, aims to boost EV exports and support the battery swapping policy.
