Chhattisgarh HC slams state over road ‘hooliganism’, flouting of rules

Chhattisgarh High Court expressed strong displeasure over the state’s ineffective handling of road hooliganism and traffic violations, often by affluent individuals. Taking suo moto cognisance of incidents involving stunts and birthday celebrations on National Highways, the court demanded stringent action against all violators, irrespective of status, and directed the Chief Secretary to file a personal affidavit.
