Coimbatore launches anti-rabies drive for stray dogs after outbreak concerns

Coimbatore authorities have relaunched a major anti-rabies vaccination campaign targeting stray dogs, particularly in the Thudiyalur area, after a recent surge in rabies cases. With 25 dogs testing positive in recent months, the city-wide initiative aims to vaccinate over 1,11,000 stray dogs by February 2026.
