Delay in draining Harsil lake erodes soil, blocks Gangotri highway; residents worried

On Sunday, the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) planned an operation to use explosives in order to drain out the water from the lake, but the effort was suspended midway after the Army withheld its clearance, according to SDRF officials.
