DGCA fines IndiGo Rs 40 lakh: Uncertified simulators used in training; 1,700 pilots affected

IndiGo faces a Rs 40 lakh penalty from DGCA for using uncertified flight simulators for training pilots on critical routes like Calicut and Leh. The aviation regulator found that around 1,700 pilots trained on unqualified simulators, violating safety norms. The airline’s training and flight operations directors were fined for this lapse.
