Dibrugarh’s VRDL Lab Receives Silver Shield for Excellence in Disease Detection and Diagnostics

The Regional Virus Research & Diagnostic Laboratory (VRDL) in Dibrugarh received the Silver Shield for Excellence at the National VRDL Conclave 2025 for its contributions to disease detection in the northeast. Union minister Anupriya Patel presented the award. The lab played a crucial role during the Covid-19 pandemic, processing approximately 380,000 RT-PCR tests and developing an Omicron-detecting kit.
