Durg sets example with community-led green and water conservation initiatives

Durg district is seeing a boost in water conservation. Locals are planting trees and building recharge structures. Over one lakh saplings were planted under “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam”. Thousands of soak pits and trenches have been built. The district aims to construct 34,000 water absorption trenches. Villagers have voluntarily constructed 2,500 recharge pits near schools and homes.
