ECI bans exit polls ahead of bypolls in states

The Election Commission of India has prohibited the collection and publication of exit polls for the Bihar assembly elections and by-elections in eight states, including Mizoram’s Dampa constituency. This restriction, under Section 126A of the Representation of People Act, 1951, will remain in effect for 48 hours after polling concludes.
