EOW arrests PACL director in Rs 49K crore investment scam

Gurjant Singh Gill, a director at Pearls Agro-tech Corporation Limited, got arrested in Punjab. The Economic Offences Wing made the arrest. PACL allegedly collected about Rs 49,000 crore from investors across ten states. The company promised plots of land but failed to deliver. A case against PACL was registered in 2011.
