Fear of ‘deshdrohi’ tag: Gujarat teacher duped of Rs 30 lakh; fraudster posed as cop

In Ahmedabad, a school teacher was swindled out of Rs 30 lakh by cybercriminals who threatened to label her a traitor with links to Pakistan. Posing as Mumbai police, the fraudsters claimed her details were connected to illegal transactions and demanded funds for ‘verification’. They used spoofed numbers and staged video calls to pressure her.
