Food crime: Cardiff men jailed for selling fake halal meat to restaurants; nearly 3 tonnes seized in raid
In Cardiff, Hamil Miah received a jail sentence of four years and eight months, while Noaf Rahman got a suspended sentence, for a meat supply fraud. They deceived restaurants across south and west Wales by falsely selling non-halal chicken as halal. Authorities discovered unsanitary conditions in their warehouse, including tampered expiry dates and meat transported in filthy vans.
