Former Police Officer Sentenced to 20 Years for Raping 12-Year-Old Under Pocso Act

A former assistant sub-inspector of police in Ranchi has been sentenced to 20 years of rigorous imprisonment by a special Pocso court for raping a 12-year-old girl. The convict, who lived in the girl’s neighborhood, committed the crime on August 15, 2022, and blackmailed her using a video of the incident to continue the abuse between 2022 and 2023.
