Gajapati administration prevents marriage of minor girl

Gajapati administration successfully prevented a minor girl’s marriage to an older man in Kashinagar. Officials intervened after receiving a tip-off. The girl’s parents agreed to postpone the wedding until she turns 18. The district administration is monitoring the situation and counseling the family. This is one of five child marriage attempts stopped this year in Gajapati.
