Guardians pitchers Emmanuel Clase and Luis Ortiz remain on nondisciplinary paid leave as MLB probe continues

Emmanuel Clase and Luis Ortiz are reinstated by the Cleveland Guardians from paid leave, which will continue indefinitely pending MLB and Ohio Casino Control Commission investigations. Ortiz was placed on leave after betting irregularities were flagged in June, while Clase followed in July for similar reasons. The absence of both pitchers is a blow to Cleveland’s playoff aspirations.
