Hundreds of trucks stranded as Mizoram’s highway crumbles

Mizoram’s lifeline, the Aizawl-Silchar highway (NH-306), has deteriorated significantly, stranding hundreds of empty trucks. The Sairang-Mualkhang/Khamrang stretch is particularly treacherous, with lighter trucks struggling on the degraded surface. The Mizoram Truck Driver Association criticizes the lack of maintenance and warns of potential disruptions to essential goods transport if conditions don’t improve.
