IMD warns of intense showers in Northeast, Maharashtra; Manipur reels under severe flooding

India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued warnings for widespread heavy rainfall across India, even as the southwest monsoon retreats. Manipur is currently facing a severe flooding emergency, displacing thousands, with continued rainfall expected to worsen the situation. Extremely heavy rainfall is also anticipated in Konkan, Madhya Maharashtra, and Marathwada, raising concerns about floods and landslides.
