Goa’s coconut production has significantly declined, dropping over 7.5% from 163.1 million nuts in 2022-23 to 150.8 million in 2024-25. Productivity per hectare also fell by nearly 8%. Ageing plantations, labor shortages, high fertilizer costs, and wildlife damage are key factors.
