Karnataka: Fire erupts at Material Recovery Facility (MRF); : Rs 7 crore loss feared

A massive fire erupted at Udupi CMC’s Material Recovery Facility in Alevoor early Saturday, causing extensive damage estimated at Rs 6-7 crore. Firefighters battled the challenging blaze for hours, which involved plastic and oil-based materials. The cause remains unknown, though 80% of the waste had fortunately been shifted prior to the incident.
