Karnataka: Woman loses Rs 11 lakh to online investment fraud
A 49-year-old woman in Mangaluru was defrauded of Rs 11.45 lakh in an online investment scam. Lured by Facebook advertisements, she joined a WhatsApp group and was convinced by Ananya Verma and Prof Shiv Sehgal to invest in stocks via a fake app. After transferring the money, she was unable to withdraw her funds and subsequently filed a police complaint.
