Larry Gies donates $100 Million to rename Illinois Memorial Stadium in honor of his father

Larry Gies, a University of Illinois alumnus, has donated $100 million to the Division of Intercollegiate Athletics, renaming Memorial Stadium as Gies Memorial Stadium in honor of his father, a U.S. Army veteran. This historic gift, pending board approval, will honor veterans and support Fighting Illini student-athletes.
