Last of Perni Zagor masks tellof a fading Goan folk art form

Goa’s ancient Perni Zagor folk theatre faces extinction as its last troupes dwindle. Eighty-year-old Mohan Kavlu Perni is among the few keeping this mask dance-drama alive, using over a century-old wooden masks. With dwindling interest and no new mask makers, this unique cultural heritage is at risk of disappearing entirely.
