Lighting up Kolkatas heritage through citizens’ initiative

Kolkata Restorers, a citizen-led initiative, has illuminated 94 buildings in Kolkata since November 2023 through crowdfunding. Sparked by Mudar Patherya’s effort to light Maniktala Market, the movement empowers residents to contribute to preserving their city’s heritage. Prominent facades like Raj Bhavan and St. Paul’s Cathedral now glow, showcasing Kolkata’s architectural beauty.
