Madras HC to watch ‘Manushi’ amid clash with censor board

The Madras High Court will directly review the Tamil film ‘Manushi’ after a dispute with the CBFC, which demanded 37 cuts. Justice N. Anand Venkatesh ordered a private screening on August 24 to assess the censor board’s objections to the film’s portrayal of custodial torture and alleged negative depiction of the State.
