Manipur violence: 50-year-old village chief killed in Churachandpur; Kuki militant group suspected behind attack

A tribal village chief, Mangthang Haokip, was tragically killed in Manipur’s Churachandpur district by suspected militants from an armed Kuki group reportedly outside government agreements. The Henglep Headquarter Area Chiefs’ Association has condemned the act and demanded swift justice. Authorities are investigating the United Kuki National Army, an outfit linked to recent attacks, for the murder.
