Mizoram village faces outbreak of stink bug species

Millions of ‘thangnang’ stink bugs (Udonga montana) have swarmed Sihfa village in Mizoram’s Saitual district since Monday, causing trees to bend and branches to break under their sheer weight. Villagers are actively collecting the bugs, which are a valuable source of oil and food, with some individuals gathering up to 5kg daily.
