Mizoram’s Hmar People’s Convention and Maraland Democratic Front delisted by Election Commission

The Election Commission of India (ECI) has delisted the Hmar People’s Convention (HPC) and Maraland Democratic Front (MDF), two political parties from Mizoram, along with 472 other Registered Unrecognised Political Parties (RUPPs). These parties failed to contest successive elections, violating ECI guidelines. The People’s Conference (PC) party was spared due to fielding a candidate in the recent Lok Sabha election.
