NASA’s James Webb Telescope discovers ‘alien’ comet 3I/ATLAS that displays eccentric behaviour; know more inside
Astronomers are keenly observing interstellar comet 3I/ATLAS using the James Webb Space Telescope. As it nears the Sun, the comet’s outgassing reveals a unique composition, particularly a high carbon dioxide-to-water ratio. This suggests 3I/ATLAS originated in a colder, radiation-rich environment outside our solar system. Its unusual structure may also inhibit water vaporization, distinguishing it from typical comets.
