NBA’s new rule lets players shoot last-second heaves without hurting their stats
Beginning in the 2025-26 season, the NBA will change how missed end-of-period heaves are recorded. These missed long-range attempts in the first three quarters will be counted as team misses, not individual player misses. This adjustment aims to encourage more daring plays without negatively impacting player statistics, potentially leading to more thrilling games and highlight moments.
