NHL Department suspends Jonathan Drouin from one game for cross-checking

New York Islanders player Jonathan Drouin faces a one-game suspension. The NHL Department of Player Safety issued the penalty for a high cross-check on Connor Dewar. Drouin will miss the Islanders’ home opener. He will also forfeit salary to the Players’ Emergency Assistance Fund. This marks Drouin’s first career suspension.
