The Amthane dam in Latambarcem has received new electrical gates. This upgrade replaces older manual valves and cost over Rs 13 crore. The project followed a water crisis in Bardez when the dam’s gates jammed. Navy divers had to cut the gates to release water. The reservoir was drained for repairs during the monsoon.
