Panel proposes merger of 2 Mizoram PSUs to curb losses

To mitigate financial losses and improve efficiency, the Mizoram assembly’s Committee on Public Undertakings (CoPU) suggests merging Mamco and Zidco. Mamco’s shift away from agriculture and Zidco’s lack of engineering staff prompted the recommendation. The merged entity would operate in construction and banking, overseen by the Finance Department, with merit-based leadership appointments.
