Pune civic body begins cleaning drive after heavy overnight showers across city

Following heavy overnight rains, the Pune Municipal Corporation initiated debris removal and stormwater drain cleaning in areas like Ganeshkhind Road and Katraj. Residents near riverbanks have been alerted for potential evacuation as a precaution. Earlier in August, over 100 residents were evacuated from low-lying areas along the Mutha River due to increased water discharge from Khadakwasla Dam.
