Rain & storm dampen Durga Puja spirit across Barak Valley

Torrential rain and thunderstorms disrupted Durga Puja festivities across Barak Valley. A sudden squall damaged pandals and decorative arches. Power supply was affected in parts of Silchar. Despite weather challenges, idol immersion on Dashami evening proceeded. Over one hundred idols from India and Bangladesh were immersed in the transboundary Kushiyara river.
