Retd Odisha doctor felicitated for donating Rs 3.40cr for cancer study

A 98-year-old retired gynaecologist, Dr. K. Lakshmi Bai, has donated her life savings of Rs 3.40 crore to AIIMS Bhubaneswar to establish a gynaecologic oncology programme. She also contributed Rs 3 lakh to a local society for a cancer prevention vaccination drive among adolescent women. The Ganjam BJP unit and others lauded her generous act.
