RFK Jr.’s panel ends Hepatitis B vaccine recommendation for newborns: What is it and why was it required?

A key vaccine advisory panel has changed its recommendation for the Hepatitis B vaccine. The panel now suggests parents decide individually for babies born to mothers who test negative for Hepatitis B. For these babies, the first shot can be delayed to two months. However, babies born to mothers with Hepatitis B will still be recommended for vaccination at birth.
