Sambalpur court sentences man to 30 years RI for rape of 6-year-old girl; victim still under treatment

A Sambalpur court sentenced a 25-year-old man to 30 years in prison for the brutal rape of a six-year-old girl from Sundargarh. The crime occurred during a family wedding in April 2024. The survivor, found severely injured, received extensive medical treatment. The court also imposed a Rs 50,000 fine and directed Rs 13.5 lakh compensation.
