The Supreme Court overturned a Madras High Court order restricting the Tamil Nadu government’s use of chief ministers’ names and photos in welfare schemes. The bench, led by Chief Justice B R Gavai, also imposed a Rs 10 lakh cost on AIADMK leader C Ve Shanmugam for filing the initial petition.
