‘Shraddhanjali Scheme’ to help bring back bodies of loved ones

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma launched the ‘Shraddhanjali Scheme’ to assist families in repatriating the bodies of loved ones who pass away outside the state. This initiative, managed by the state home and political department and Assam Police, will cover students and low-income workers, ensuring dignified return of mortal remains, especially in cases of unnatural deaths.
